OMG! How Do I Use That?

Hello everyone!

It's time for another installment of the "OMG! How Do I Use That" series that my friend Jenifer and I participate in!  Basically, it's just a fun way for us to use paper or products that stump us creatively.  Plus, we love to see what each other comes up with and share our creations with all of you, of course!

This time we decided to use this piece of patterned paper from Studio Calico...

I love this piece of paper, but wow is it graphic!  Or maybe loud is a better word, lol!

Here's what I came up with...

I cut the paper in large, random, chunks and then pieced them back in order on a piece of pink card stock.  I stitched each section and then stitched two "blank" sections at the bottom to incorporate the design into my white space.

I added a bunch of yellow, gold, clear, and black sequins throughout the page and placed my title and journaling in separate areas at the bottom.

Now head on over to Jenifer's blog and check out how she used this fun patterned paper!  TFL!

Have a great day!

@ the beach

Happy Wednesday!

I'm sharing a layout I created using some of the wonderful products you can find in the Evalicious shop on the Evalicious blog today!

I was really inspired by the adorable Documented Cloud Tags and badge buttons from the Escape collection for this layout.

I used my sewing machine to stitch a large random circle design onto my page and then misted several different ink colors around it.  I layered badge buttons over the cloud tags and used a few sequins for extra sparkle.

I stamped the ampersat symbol onto some vellum and then layered it around the embellishment cluster above my title.

Supplies Used:  Ampersat and Ampersand Stamp Set, Escape v1 Badge Button, Escape v3 Badge Buttons, Escape Miscellany Tags, Escape Snipsnip Labels

I want to thank Eve again for having me as a guest designer this month at Evalicious!  I really enjoyed working with her amazing products :)

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Chic Tags Challenge Sunday: Sketch It Out

Happy Monday and happy fall, everyone!

There's a new challenge up over on the Chic Tags blog...Sketch It Out...

And here's my take on the sketch...

I decided to stick close to the sketch because I was really drawn to that big triangle design at the top left.  I layered several different pieces of patterned paper and stitched through each one before sprinkling tiny sequins all over it.

I used tags from the Birthday Cake collection from Chic Tags for this layout.

We would love for you to play along with us!!  It's easy!  Just create a layout based on the Sketch and leave a link to your page, in the comments section here, by Saturday, September 28.  A random winner will be selected to win a $10 Gift Certificate to the Chic Tags store.  Can't wait to see what you create!!

Week 35

Happy Thursday everyone!

I'm so excited to be guest designing over at the Evalicious blog this month!  I was so inspired by all the amazing products I got to work with for my Week 35 spread...

I used lots of the Escape Collection tags, labels, and badge buttons for this spread.

It was a big week around our house...I got a cold, the fair was in town, I had to go to the dentist (twice), I turned another year older, and I got Avery ready to attend Pre-K the following week.

I stamped the large ampersat stamp onto a journaling card and then colored it in using some of my watercolor ink.

Scraplifted Cards

Hello everyone!

I'm sharing some cards I created on the Lily Bee blog today.  This week's theme is scraplifting a design team member or a member from the Lily Bee Flickr group.

For my first card, I chose to scraplift fellow DT member, Patricia's, "Time For Tea Dear" layout...

I was really inspired by the diamond design she created out of the patterned paper pieces.

My next card's design came from a layout by Nicole, another fellow DT member...

I used the same cut file as the background for my card and placed a couple of speech bubbles on it just like she did on her layout.

Be sure and head over to the blog and check out who Wendy and Patricia scraplifted for their card designs.

Have a wonderful day!

Pool Day

Happy Tuesday, friends!

I'm sharing this layout on the Scrapbook Circle blog today...

My inspiration for this layout was the September Printable that you can download for free when you sign up for "Photo Goes Here" kit.

I used punches and pop-dots to give them a little extra pizzazz.  The printables coordinate so well with the kits...they're one of my favorite features :)

You can see the full post here.  Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Here's my take on the sketch...

I stuck close to the sketch and switched out a photo spot for my journaling.  I was really inspired by the Bella BLVD Daily collection...I love all those bright, happy colors.
